เชื่อว่าทุกคนต้องเคยได้รับ เจ้าคุกกี้กล่องแดง เป็นของขวัญในวันปีใหม่กันอย่างแน่นอนค่ะ แต่ก็ต้องยอมรับในช่วง 2-3 ปีที่ผ่านมา กระแสแอนตี้คุกกี้กล่องสีแดงนั้นรุนแรงเหลือเกินค่ะ จากการแชร์รูปคุกกี้กล่องสีแดงในตำนานมีทหารยืนเรียงแถวหน้ากล่องเหล็กทรงกลม พร้อมข้อความว่า “คัดค้านการซื้อคุกกี้นี่ มาจับฉลากปีใหม่"

There’s no doubt that you may have received the red round tin box cookies as a New Year’s present once in your life. Several years ago, people are strongly against these red round tin box cookies and you could find pictures of the traditional red box cookies posted everywhere with this message "Objection to buying the cookies for New Year’s Gift Exchange."

But trust me…though people keep complaining about it, you’ll finally get the red round tin box cookie as New Year gifts anyway. In fact, there’re 2 brands of red round tin box cookies which have been competed with each other in the market every year. For this year, I’ll take the opportunity to review both of them which have long been famous as gift exchange options.

Another one is Arsenal Cookie. You can see British Soldiers in front of the Elizabeth Tower on the tin box. Arsenal comes with 4 cookie selections: vanilla ring cookies, pretzel cookies, Finnish cookies and Norwegian cookies.

เริ่มที่มวยคู่แรก รสชาติที่มักจะขายดี หมดก่อนรสอื่นในกล่องเสมอ ถ้าสังเกตแค่ภายนอก สีของอาร์เซนอลจะเข้มกว่าอิมพีเรียลนิดนึง แต่รสชาติและความหอมเนย บอกเลยว่าไม่ต่างค่ะ คู่แรกเสมอกันไป

Let’s start with the first competitor, vanilla ring cookies. This cookie is the most popular and always gone before other cookie selection. Take a look at the outside and you’ll see that Arsenal Cookie seems to be slightly darker. But the taste and the sweet smell from butter are not that different. For Vanilla Ring cookies, both brands are even.

Next, Finnish style sugar cookies in rectangular shape with crunchy texture. Imperial Cookies are coated with sugar more than those of Arsenal. Those who prefer buttery taste might not like this flavor. For Finnish style cookies, Imperial Cookies scored.

คู่นี้เป็นคุกกี้ทรงเพรทเซล ที่ของอิมพีเรียลจะมีน้ำตาลเกาะเยอะกว่าอาร์เซนอลอีกเช่นเคย แต่สำหรับคู่นี้แอดมินขอเชียร์อาร์เซนอลค่า เพราะความแน่นของเนื้อต่างกันชัดเจน อาร์เซนอลให้รสสัมผัสที่ดีกว่า และเคี้ยวเพลินกว่า

Pretzel cookies of Imperial are also coated with sugar more than those of Arsenal. But for this one, Arsenal scored because of its firm and crunchy texture.

คุกกี้ทรงกลม ผสมเนื้อมะพร้าว ภายนอกต่างกันชัดเจน คู่นี้แอดมินเชียร์อาร์เซนอลค่ะ กรุบกรอบมากกว่า หอมเนยกว่านิดนึง แต่โดยรวมก็ชอบมากกว่าค่ะ

The round shaped cookies are mixed with coconut flesh. For this selection, Arsenal cookies scored since they offer slightly more buttery smell and crispy texture.

รอบนี้อาร์เซนอลแพ้ตั้งแต่ยังไม่เริ่มค่ะ แม้เนื้อสัมผัสจะไม่ต่างกัน แต่อิมพีเรียลเค้าชนะเลิศด้วยลูกเกดที่มาพร้อมกับคุกกี้เนย เข้ากันอย่างลงตัว แต่! ลูกเกดก็แอบหายากนิดนึงค่ะ บางชิ้นก็หาไม่เจอ แต่ไม่เป็นไรค่ะให้อภัยได้

For this selection, Arsenal lost before the game even starts. The texture might not be so different. However, Imperial cookies contain raisins that go along perfectly with butter cookies….But! Raisin is quite rare. In some pieces of cookie, there’s no raisin at all. But that can be forgiven.

So, how’s the review? Both of them might not look so different. But I believe if you wish to give these cookies to your loved one, either Imperial or Arsenal can be a nice gift.
