The History of "Croissant" The Delicious Legend over 100 Years!

Feeling homesick, Marie Antoinette decided to ask the royal baker to replicate “Kipferl”. The news about her favorite treat was widely spreaded, and more people were interested to give the Austrian pastry a try. The croissant became even more famous.


In 1839 when an Australian soldier named August Zang opened his bakery shop called Boulangeri Viennoise to sell Vienna-style pastries in Paris. Since it became the new trend, the bakers developed the recipes using new innovations to satisfy the tastebuds of French people such as adding yeast, different types of butter, as well as find new method to bake pastry that features unique taste and texture.
